About Us
Kanabec Kennels is a small, family-owned training and British Fox Red Labrador breeder. We are located in Nortfield, MN, approximately 45 miles south of Minneapolis. Through selective breeding, our goal is to breed the finest hunting dog: one with the best nose, a strong desire, trainability, and good looks. We are also selective in choosing ideal temperaments so your dog can be a family pet as well as a hunting dog. In addition to our puppies for sale, we provide a limited number of started dogs each year. By our definition, a started dog is a young dog that has had plenty of bird work, hunts with drive and desire, and finds birds. The started dog is well-developed to the gun and responds to the basics of obedience.
